Dr. Robert J. Nolan, Ph.D.
With over 30 years of clinical experience, he is experienced in working with people at all stages in life, from pre-school kids to senior citizens, and offers the ability to evaluate the complex problems that occur in life. He has extensive training in psychological evaluation, which finds the cause of problems, and the treatment needed. He is trained in working with physicians who are providing medications. He works with brief therapies, as well as more extensive therapies, based on the individual's needs. He provides individual, couples, and family therapies or combinations of these. |
Clinical Philosophy:
Dr. Nolan has special interests in the health, growth, and development of people. Each person is to be valued and nurtured towards the achievement of his or her potential. In his work with children and adolescents, he is able to identify their problems and treatment needs, and then to provide psychological care and services for them and their families, and work with schools to foster that growth. In our adult years, he helps us face the demands of our complicated lives and achieve the growth needed to master career, marital, and parental roles.
Whether problems arise from childhood or adolescence problems, from the emergence of medically based depression, anxiety, or from the stresses and demands of independence, marriage, and family life, he is prepared to assist people to grow and develop needed skills for successful lives. In maturity, as we face health problems, retirement, etc. He fosters further growth. Dr. Nolan works with each client, their family, and their physicians, to resolve problems and to achieve satisfaction and real meaning in life.
Insurance Coverages Accepted
Alabama Law required insurance companies to recognize psychologists as providers of services, whenever they would cover those services provided by physicians. Dr. Nolan is a provider with BCBS, All Kid's, Champus-ChampVA, Tri-Care, Medicare, Medicaid (EPSDT), and is on many managed care provider panels as well (AETNA, Magellan, Value Options, and United Behavioral, etc).
